Project overview
The HG law team was looking for a website refresh—something modern, clean, yet accessible and approachable. As leaders in their field, as well as in their local community, they wanted a site to represent both their local presence and legal expertise. The colour scheme was created by pulling the red from their existing logo and expanding on it to add colour and cohesiveness to the site. The text-heavy nature of a legal site was broken up by mixing in beautiful, peaceful imagery of the community in which they live and work.

I started out by asking the HG team to do some "brainstorming" about what they envisioned for their new site and online presence. Knowing that the site would be the "face" of their firm—the first impression to all incoming clients--they understood the importance of a design that would convey their experience, integrity and values. Some of the words that came to mind for the team were local, community, welcoming, inclusive, experienced, balanced, monochromatic, approachable, authentic and professional. I used these ideas to kick off my design process and create a few different mockups for them to look at.

Each employee of HG was given a separate profile page with their details and background information. This approach ensured that clients could get familiar with the team and put a face to a name. A group photo creates an approachable yet professional feeling for the team page, two of HG's main goals for their new site.
